Andrea von Wilmowsky was born in Dresden in 1955. She is married and lives near Munich.

For almost a quarter century she has worked as a nurse in intensive care units and seen much in this world between life and death – some of which has been declared a taboo by medical sciences. Questions around “brain death” accompanied her for many years and never let go of her. One day the subject entered into her personal life marking the beginning and the end of a true love story which could not be more extraordinary.

The book “Segelfalter”, an optimistic tragedy, encourages its readers to take a completely new approach to the fear-laden topics of death and dying.
